Bearded Silkies

Silkies are true bantams, having no large fowl counterpart.

This breed is very docile in temperament and make great show birds.

First being recognized by the American Poultry Association in 1874. Currently the varieties standardized are as follows:

Bearded: White, Black, Blue, Buff, Gray, Partridge, Splash & Self Blue

Non-Bearded: White, Black, Blue, Buff, Gray, Partridge

Non-Standardized: Paint, Cuckoo & Red

Weight:       Cock: 36 oz.                     Hen: 32 oz.

                    Cockerel: 32 oz.              Pullet: 28 oz.

Comb: Walnut

Broody: Very

Egg Color: Cream/Tinted
